Establishing Professional Contacts and Expanding Resources

Blog Assignment Part 1: Establishing Professional Contacts

This week blog task was very simple for me, in the past as a classroom teacher my students and I contacted with a teacher and the student in china. During that time we share the different picture of students are and basic language skills. Over the years I have stayed in contact with this teacher and we share tips and ideas when working with families of a different culture. I also gain a very close professional relationship with a past parent who was a preschool teacher from Canada, upon returning back to Canada she and I stayed connected via email. Because the three of us are from different part of the world we felt email was the best way to communicate. I have learned some many things about their parenting styles and teaching style which help me in my work today.

The resource I decided to explore was ZERO TO THREE. I decided to focus on this because as a nurturing parenting specialist I believe this is the area most parents need the most help in. Zero To Three displayed information that felt was very universal and global.  Some of the articles I explored were so relatable and very informing. The Zero to Three main goals is to ensure that every child has the best care possible no matter of their background.

This site also allows people to sign up for new letters, I have shared this information with so many parents. I think this site is not only good for parents but for teachers as well.

I think it’s wonderful that you’ve maintained this connections with peers outside the US. What a wonderful resource for you, and a testament to your openness to diversity. I look forward to hearing more from you (and them) throughout the term!
